The opportunity

Cambridge Associates seeks to hire a business development and client relationship analyst to join our European Pension practice in Munich. This is an exciting opportunity to work with the growing Munich office.

Based in Munich, this role will involve working closely with the business development and client investment teams to support ongoing needs of new prospect efforts and client maintenance outside of the investment portfolio.

The key objective of the successful individual in this role is to work with the European Pension practice to support growth, requiring a great deal of teamwork and collaboration within Cambridge Associates.  The individual should be proactive, energetic, possess strong analytical ability, be extremely well organised, have a problem-solving mindset and be capable of handling many tasks at one time.

 

Responsibilities

  • Preparation of proposals and presentations in conjunction with team members and investment directors for prospects and existing clients
  • Support follow-up efforts to ensure prospect and client movement through the business development pipeline
  • Support with creating effective and visually appealing content for presentations
  • Update and maintain CRM systems and produce reports when required
  • Support events, roadshows, meetings with respective collateral and helping with logistics
  • Support with managing operational aspects of day-to-day client relationships
    • Respond to client queries and concerns in a timely manner, eg follow up actions from client/prospect meetings
    • Demonstrate to clients that we are proactive in resolving issues
    • Communicating updates/ progess on any opportunities we are working on to the client
  • Build, gather and synthesise research on target markets and prospects
  • Build relationships with key departments across CA in order to provide responses effectively and efficiently
  • Be a team player, work collaboratively and in close partnership with colleagues across key departments such as investment teams, client relationship management, client accounting etc.
  • Communicate on an ongoing basis about the status of enquiries and next steps, both with client teams, relationship management colleagues and clients

Qualifications

  • Fluent German speaker with 1-3 years of experience working in a professional service firm [finance/investment desirable]
  • Outstanding communication in German and English (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
  • Strong listening and organisational skills 
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with CRM systems
  • Experience writing proposals and creating presentations, ideally from an investment management environment  
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and to prioritise and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong ability to learn quickly
