Junior Trader (m/f/d) Berlin 2024

The BASF Services Europe GmbH Regional Treasury EMEA department is responsible for the Treasury and Cash Management activity of BASF entities in EMEA. The activities are divided in the Front Office, Middle Office and Back Office teams.

Responsibilities

Within our Front Office Team, you will be responsible for the execution of FX derivatives and money market deals/transactions in the Front Office Trading team.

• In this role, you ensure effective and efficient execution of FX derivates and money market transactions via multiple platforms across EMEA.
• You ensure that executed transactions are compliant with the global Treasury guidelines and in accordance with the defined strategy.
• Furthermore, you ensure continuous improvement of the Front Office processes and systems in order to increase the rate of straight through processing.
• You have knowledge of the available instruments in the different markets, the applicable regulations as well as the market liquidity.
• During your work you design and execute new strategies to ensure competitive FX as well as financing options.
• Together with the Middle Office team, you prepare currency reports and market updates for our management and business units.
• Apart from that, you are proactively involved in the global front office community and share best practices as well as know-how within the regions and other HUBs.

Qualifications

• university degree with focus on Treasury, Economics, Finance or related fields (vocational training/ educational background)
• proven experience in Finance, Controlling or the banking sector would be an added advantage
• enjoy working within agile projects, question existing processes and procedures, focus on customers at all times and are open to modern digital solutions.
• have analytical skills along with an interest in, and initial experience with, technical and practical business process optimization, ideally in SAP FI, MS Office.
• You have an eye for detail and a pro-active stance to address issues.
• excellent communication skills in English in order to convincingly convey complex interrelationships to stakeholders and to build stable relationships

• Gross annual salary (full-time): 31.000 - 35.000 €, depending on qualifications and professional experience. In addition, you can expect a bonus dependent on the company's success as well as individual performance.
